I had a blast at the Crestview Public Library’s 10th anniversary party the other night. There were absolutely no iconic librarians with fingers to their lips sushing patrons. They were out on the dance floor with everyone else.
When I first blew over here in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, one of the first events I attended was the library-sponsored Full Moon Hunting Camp. Intrigued, I came back and discovered even more great things our library has to offer. Programs, services, public art, and above all, a great staff of caring people. I couldn’t wait to get involved. You might say it was our awesome library that convinced me Crestview was the right place to settle down after 20-something years in New Orleans.
Communities are rated by their quality of life, and our library makes life in Crestview great. It’s an arts center, a community center, a place of learning, a place of solace, and a place to find the answers to most of life’s questions.
Happy birthday to my many friends at the Crestview Public Library!
